TIGERS WIN STRAIGHT SETS WITH .304 HITTING NIGHT

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Tigers earned a dominant 3-0 sweep on Thursday night at McHie Arena, winning by set scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-20. The Tigers hit an impressive .304, highlighted by an efficient final set with 14 kills and just two errors on 33 attempts.

Olivet opened the match with strong momentum, battling through an even start before pulling ahead with a key scoring run midway through the first set. Tomas Gonzalez led the offense with consistent assists, while Cameron Johnston and Ben Kreke combined for a crucial block to extend the lead. The Tigers maintained control late and closed out the set 25-21.

In the second set, Cade Ooms took over offensively, delivering multiple key kills, including back-to-back points to break a late tie and give Olivet the edge. Kreke continued to contribute at the net, and the set was sealed with a strong block from Joe Akeo and Ooms, securing a 25-22 win.

The Tigers carried that momentum into the third set, jumping out to an early lead behind kills from Ooms and Johnston. Gonzalez continued to orchestrate the offense, setting up key scoring opportunities, including another Johnston kill that extended the advantage. Nic VanOort and Kreke added important points as Olivet maintained control throughout the set. The Tigers closed out the match with a 25-20 victory to complete the sweep.
