BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The Olivet Nazarene University women's track & field team delivered a strong showing across all event groups, posting multiple event victories, podium finishes, and personal records throughout the meet.
Sophomore Haylee Whitcraft led the sprint group with a win in the 60 meters, clocking a personal‑best 7.99, before returning to claim first place in the 200 meters with another PR (26.48). In the hurdles, sophomore Olivia Lentz captured the 60m hurdles title in 9.56 and followed with a victory in the 600 meters (1:36.08). Lentz also helped anchor a strong middle‑distance showing for the Tigers.
Middle‑distance success continued as senior Heidi Heldt earned wins in both the 800 meters (2:16.32) and the 1000 meters (2:54.19), recording personal bests in each event. Freshman Teleyah Covington placed second in the 400 meters, while senior Carsyn Burdine captured the event title in 57.97. The Tigers also collected solid performances in the mile, led by senior Destiny Vargas, who finished third with a season‑best effort.
Distance runners showcased depth in the 3000 meters, where junior Isabella Wojciechowski finished second, followed closely by teammates Claire Carter, Violet Montgomery, and Mackenzie Smith, all posting personal bests.
In the field events, senior Hailey Perrine won the long jump with a mark of 5.19 meters, while sophomore Sophie Dagnall added a runner‑up finish. Junior Karissa Arvin placed second in the triple jump, setting a season best. In the throws, junior Amanda Gustafson recorded a second‑place finish in the shot put to lead the Tigers.
ONU also earned a podium finish in the 4x400 relay, as the quartet of Tess Varga, Laurel Munson, Destiny Vargas, and Morgan Reddy placed second to cap off the meet.
The Tigers remain in Bourbonnais for their next meet, which will take place on Friday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m.
