TIGERS LOSE 3-0 ON THE ROAD TO THE JAGUARS

University Park, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene University (6-8, 0-1) was defeated in straight sets Thursday night, 0-3 (14-25, 18-25, 21-25), but showed steady offensive improvement as the match progressed. After hitting at a lower percentage in the opening set, the Tigers raised their efficiency to .214 in the second set and .241 in the third.

The Tigers battled early in the first set but were hindered by a pair of early miscues. Despite the slow start, Ben Kreke contributed a key kill to help spark the offense. Olivet Nazarene continued to fight throughout the set, though they were unable to overcome the deficit.

In the second set, Lucas Lapa played a consistent role in directing the offense, helping create scoring opportunities for his teammates. Tomas Gonzalez also facilitated several successful attacks as the Tigers worked to find rhythm offensively. Service errors proved challenging, but Olivet Nazarene remained competitive before the set concluded at 25-18.

The third set marked the Tigers' strongest performance of the night. Joe Akeo opened the scoring for Olivet Nazarene, setting the tone for a competitive frame. Cade Ooms delivered multiple effective kills to keep the Tigers within striking distance, while the team's improved hitting percentage reflected more efficient attacking. Despite the late push and sustained effort, Olivet Nazarene ultimately dropped the set 25-21, closing out the match.
