BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene (IL) fell to St. Ambrose (IA) 78-75 in a tightly contested CCAC Quarterfinal matchup at McHie Arena on Wednesday night.
Olivet opened the game with a strong offensive display, highlighted by Dylan Fey's early three-pointer assisted by Andrew Bennett at 19:42. The Tigers team gained momentum with a series of three's, including contributions from Mason Wood and Eli Edwards. The Tigers established their largest lead of the half, a five-point advantage, at 9:26 following Keagen Holder's jumper.
Despite a competitive effort from St. Ambrose (IA), the Tigers maintained their edge, with a key three-pointer from Bennett at 1:16 and a free throw from Holder in the final minute. The first half concluded with the Tigers leading 38–35.
Olivet maintained a competitive stance in the second half, with Edwards contributing through key jump shots and layups.
