CHICAGO, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene University senior setter Tomas Gonzalez earned Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Setter of the Week honors after leading the Tigers to an unbeaten three-match week. Gonzalez, a native of Bogotá, Colombia, averaged 10.5 assists per set while adding 2.0 digs per set, eight service aces, and four blocks to power ONU's offense.
Gonzalez delivered his top performance in a four-set win over St. Ambrose, totaling 56 assists, nine digs, four aces, and two blocks. He followed that effort with 23 assists against Calumet College of St. Joseph and 26 assists versus Aquinas College in straight-set victories. His strong play has helped lead Olivet to a four-match win streak, and improve to 9-11 overall and 2-3 in CCAC play.
