BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's Jackson Harvey has collected the final Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's volleyball Defender of the Week award, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
It marks the second Defender of the Week accolade earned by Harvey this year. He was tough at the net this week as noted by his nearly 2.0 blocks-per-set average over two matches. He finished at a 1.7 average (12 total blocks), while also producing 2.4 kills per set with a .500 hitting clip.
The senior middle hitter put up eight blocks, eight kills and a .467 attacking mark in a three-set win over St. Ambrose University last Tuesday. That was followed by a four-block, nine-kill, .538 hitting mark in a straight-set victory opposite Trinity Christian College on Thursday.
Olivet Nazarene, which enters the CCAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed, concluded the regular season at 14-12 overall and 8-4 versus CCAC competition.
