AUSTIN, Texas – For the second consecutive year, Hannah Antkoviak earned recognition for her efforts in the classroom and on the track when she was named to the NAIA Women's Track & Field Academic Team, as voted on by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Antkoviak was one of just 10 student-athletes named to the second team.
The CSC Academic All-America Team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA institutions, who are selected based on their work athletically and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.
Antkoviak had another stellar year on the track, defending her title in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The Allegan, Mich., native, who later qualified to the semifinal round in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the same event, blitzed out a 57.72 to take down the 400-meter hurdles for the second straight season. Antkoviak added a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.19, which would have set the new all-time NAIA record in the event, before running the anchor leg of the third-place 4x400-meter relay team.
The junior harrier added two additional national titles at the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, picking up the gold medal with an NAIA record to win the 600-meter dash before anchoring the winning 4x400-meter relay with an ONU record time of 3:42.90. She is majoring in Art Education at Olivet Nazarene University.
Antkoviak becomes the sixth Tiger to be named a CSC Academic All-American this school year, joining Nick Kilian (men's soccer), Halle Briner (women's swimming & diving), Mason Beall (men's swimming & diving), Jack Fries (men's swimming & diving), and Jack Dupuis (baseball).
