BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's track and field team hosted the ONU Invitational on Saturday at Ward Field.
The Tigers saw great success on the track. The first Tiger came in the 400-meter dash as Tori Orton took the victory with a time of 1:02. Then, in the 3k, Sarai Vargas won the event with a time of 10:37.67. In the 100-meter hurdles, Emma Betts won the race with a time of 16.92. Additionally, Betts took second-place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.84. After Eleanor Fournier won the 3000- steeplechase, the Tigers won both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. The Tigers saw 11 top-three finishes on the track.
To open the field events, Lynette Latocha won the high jump with a mark of 1.67 meters. Olivia Earl then won the pole vault with a mark of 3.40 meters. The Tigers also saw Madeline Manganiello win the triple jump, Madeleine Robinson win the shot put and hammer throw as well as Kayla Mikottis win the discus throw. Robinson notched "A" qualifying standards in the shot put and the hammer throw. Avery Spencer then closed out the field events with a victory in the javelin with a mark of 36.76 meters. The Tigers won six of the seven field events in the meet.
