ONU FIRE SEVEN PAST IU-NORTHWEST FOR FIRST CCAC WIN

CROWN POINT, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer program claimed their first win in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Saturday night with a 7-2 victory over IU-Northwest on the road. Emily Greene starred in the match with two goals on four shots on goals while Abbey Cash doled out two assists in the win.


Marissa Anderson got the Tigers off to a hot start bagging the contest's first goal only 1:17 in. Greene's first goal was registered at the 7:25-mark assisted by Cash. Seven seconds later, Katie Knutte made it 3-0 with Cash credited with the assist. The match settled down for the next 16 minutes before Sara Loichinger scored her first goal of the year. Annabel Murley and Susanna Lindquist tacked on the final two goals in the half with Melea Miller picking up an assist as the game headed to the break with ONU leading 6-0

IU-Northwest found their footing in the match scoring the first goal of the second half. Kelly Shaffer scored the first of her two goals in the 58th minute. Greene tallied her second goal of the night and restored the six-goal advantage one minute later. Shaffer added the second goal for the RedHawks in the 83rd minute but it was too late as the Purple and Gold earned their second win of the year in their last two games.
