GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet Nazarene women's soccer could not hold off No.9 Aquinas College Saints as they bested the visiting Tigers 2-1. Freshman, Melea Miller, scored her first career goal in the loss.
The Tigers were awarded a corner kick in the 16th minute. Abby Cash swung a ball into the box leading to a scum in front of Aquinas' net. Melea Miller was the first to react and claim the game's first goal and the early lead. AQ responded by tying the game in the 26h minute when two Aquinas attackers connected for a tap-in goal. ONU sustained pressure in the final minutes of the half with Kaylee Evers and Katie Knutte creating two of Olivet's four scoring chances in the half. Nothing separated the teams after 45 minutes of play.
