ANTKOVIAK, GIULIANO BREAK SCHOOL RECORDS AT GIBSON INVITATIONAL

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Hannah Antkoviak and Vince Giuliano each broke school records and more national-qualifying standards were reached as the Olivet Nazarene University track & field teams continued their outdoor season at the Gibson Invitational this weekend.

Antkoviak set the new school record in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 58.81 to hit the A standard and notch the fastest time in the NAIA so far this season. She placed first in the meet, which featured competition from multiple NCAA Division I and II schools, and was the only runner to come in under the one-minute threshold.

Antkoviak also placed third in the 100 hurdles, crossing the finish line at 13.85 to hit the A standard and rank fifth in the country for the event.

Giuliano's record-setting performance came in the 200-meter dash. Along with setting a school record, his time of 20.59 hit the A standards and marked as the second-fastest time in the NAIA this season. Giuliano finished first in the event at the Gibson Invitational.

Giuliano was also the runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a school-record time of 47.87, which also cleared the A standard and ranks him ninth in the nation.

There were several other Tigers that posted NAIA qualifying marks at the Gibson Invitational. Kiara Carter cleared the A standard in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 56.84 to place fifth at the Gibson Invitational.

Three Tigers hit NAIA-B standards in throwing events on the women's side: Lana Krohe hit a distance of 13.04 meters to place ninth in the shot put to hit the B standard, Kayla Mikottis hit the B standard in the discus with a 43.93-meter throw which placed her eighth, and Courtney Hall hit a 48.94-meter mark in the hammer throw to clear the B standard and place eighth at the Gibson Invitational.

Both of the ONU 4x100-meter relays cleared the NAIA's A standard this weekend. The quartet of Kiara Carter, Kimberly Brent, Hannah Antkoviak, and Olivia Stirrup blitzed to a time of 47.13 to place seventh and clear the A standard, while Nathan Domont, Vince Giuliano, Calvin Thomas, and Jalen Dunnigan teamed up to place fifth and hit the A standard with a time of 41.04.
