Seven Tigers selected to All-MSFA Midwest League teams

FINDLAY, Ohio — The Olivet Nazarene University football team had seven individuals represented on the 2015 Mid-States Football Association All-Midwest League team. The Tigers had one selected to the first team defense, one on the second team offense, two on the second team defense and three named as honorable mentions. The Tigers have one repeat selection from the 2014 list; Lucas Limberg (SR/Rockford, Ill.) and Thomas Dexter (SR/Canal Winchester, Ohio) were second team defense selections a year ago.

Defensive end Thomas Dexter was selected to the All-MSFA Midwest First Team Defense for the first time in his career. He was one of four defensive linemen selected out of 13 total on the team. He started all 11 games played for the Tigers, finishing with 64 tackles (31-33), finishing fourth on the team. He had led the team with 16.5 tackles for loss (third in MSFA) for 79 yards. Dexter led the team with nine sacks (second in MSFA) for 35 yards, had three forced fumbles, one recovery, one pass break up and two quarterback hurries.

Wide receiver Adam Glanders (SO/Elkhart, Ind.) was selected All-MSFA Midwest Second Team Offense for the first time. He was one of four wide receivers selected out of 17 total on the team. Glanders started nine of the 10 games he played. He led the team with 54 receptions (9.5 avg.) and 513 yards receiving (51.3 avg.), catching two touchdown passes. He finished ninth in the MSFA in receptions per game (5.4). Glanders finished with the receiving yards by a Tiger receiver since Joshua Howells in 2010.

Linebacker Sebastian Swift (SO/El Cajon, Calif.) was selected All-MSFA Midwest Second Team Defense for the first time. He was one of four linebackers selected out of 13 total on the team. He started all 11 games for the Tigers, finishing with a team-high139 tackles (57-82). He had eight and a half tackles for loss for 32 yards, three interceptions four 43 yards, one sack for two yards, one forced fumble, one recovery and three pass break ups. Swift was third in the MSFA in tackles per game (12.6).

Defensive back Lucas Limberg was selected All-MSFA Midwest Second Team Defense for the second time. He was one of five defensive backs selected out of 14 total on the team. He started all 11 games for the Tigers, finishing with 73 in tackles (39-34), finishing third on the team. He had one and a half tackle for loss for five yards, three interceptions finishing with 10 in his career, four forced fumbles, eight pass break ups (led team) and one fumble recovery returned for a 82-yard touchdown.

Three other Tigers earned honorable mention status (18 total named): linebacker Caleb Coe (FR/Xenia, Ohio); offensive lineman Zane Burtron (SO/Westfield, Ind.) and defensive lineman Andrew Manganiello (JR/Lemont, Ill.). Coe started all 11 games in his first season and was second on the team in tackles with 114, including eight and a half for loss. Burtron started 10 games at center, helping the Tigers score 229 points, 77 more than last year and 1,000 more yards of offense. Manganiello started 10 games at nose tackle and finished with 35 tackles, including seven for loss.
