ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The No. 22 Olivet Nazarene University women's cross country team opened their 2022 campaign Friday evening at the Lewis Early Bird. The Tigers placed fourth in the five-team event.
Elise Champlin was the top-finisher for the Tigers, crossing the finish line in 14th place with a time of 16:23.0. Not far behind was Jacey Schickel, only two spots behind Champlin in 15th place; Schickel ran her 4k in 16:30.4. Three other Tigers rounded out the scoring with top-30 finishes: Lauren Smith in 22nd place with a 16:48.6 time, freshman Heidi Heldt in 26th at 16:54.5, and Kathryn Swanson crossed the finish at 16:58.9 to place 28th.

The Tigers will have next weekend off before hosting the Midwest Classic at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Ill. on Sept. 16th.
