BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The No. 19 Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team hosted their first meet of the 2022-23 season, Midwest Classic, Friday evening. ONU's Taylor Vallangeon won the men's 8k race with a time of 25:42, while the Tigers finished first among 12 teams in the event with 21 points for their top finishers.
Vallangeon, a junior from Columbus, Ohio, took the top spot by a wide margin of 22 seconds. Tiger's junior, Enrique Romo, claimed second while freshman Austin Rush crossed the finish line 1:08 later to take fourth place. Peyton Hobson, Drew Gonzalez, Erik Richter, and Jordan Vanbarriger rounded out the remaining ONU top-seven finishers.
