KANSAS CITY – Justin Eisenmann and Fabio Hasler of the Olivet Nazarene University men's soccer team were selected to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-America Honorable Mentions announced on Wednesday. They were named along with the NAIA's All-America selections for their performance throughout the 2022 season.
Eisenmann, a native of Breunignsweiler, Germany, is named to the All-America Honorable Mention list for the first time. His year to date has included 13 goals and 12 assists totaling 38 points. The ONU striker topped the conference in each attacking stat category earning him the award of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team honors, and CoSIDA Academic All-America honors for the second consecutive year. The junior received Conference Player of the Week recognition on Sept. 20 scoring a hat trick against St. Ambrose. Eisenmann was clutch down the stretch scoring the game-winning goals in the conference tournament semi-final and the final lifting the Tigers to their second consecutive CCAC Tournament Championship.
Hasler, a native of Frauenfeld, Switzerland, is honored to the NAIA All-America Honorable Mention list for the first time in his career. The sophomore right wing-back finished tied for 11th in the conference with five assists while scoring five goals totaling 15 points. He started and played in 20 of 21 matches this season attributing to nine shutouts defensively and scoring two game-winning goals. Hasler's highlight of the season came late in games to save the Tigers from vital dropped points. Against St. Francis, he scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute to complete the comeback, and against Governors State, he scored in the 88th minute to level the score after falling behind 2-0 in the 76th minute. This season he has been awarded CCAC All-Conference First Team and CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team.
Eisenmann and Hasler led the Tigers to CCAC regular season and tournament championships. ONU tied the program record with 16 wins in a season. The Tigers outscored opponents 65-17 accumulating a 12-0-1 home record with a 4-0-2 record on the road culminating in a berth in the NAIA National Tournament First Round for the second consecutive year.
