TIGERS RALLY LATE FOR THIRD-CONSECUTIVE WIN

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball team rallied late to pick up the 26-24, 24-26, 20-25, 25-19, 15-5 win over Indiana Northwest Tuesday night in McHie Arena.

The Tigers broke away early in the fifth and decisive set. Kennedy Kiger put down three straight kills to give the Tigers a 7-3 lead. Indiana Northwest (2-15, 1-3 CCAC) battled back with a pair of points to cut the lead to 7-5, but that would be the closest they would get as Sabrina Sanif, Malia Harris, and Halle Nicholas teamed up to slam the door on the RedHawks.

The trio combined for 10 consecutive points to close out the match. After Sanif hammered home a kill to claim the serve, Harris went on a nine-point serving streak to ride the Tigers to victory. Three points away from victory, Harris notched an ace, then Sanif and Nicholas housed their second block of the spurt to put the Tigers at match point. Nicholas then notched her 18th kill of the match to secure the win.

The Tigers were credited with nine kills against just two hitting errors in the final set.

Nicholas and Kaylee Cozen were responsible for over half of ONU's kills. Nicholas put down 18 on just five errors while Cozen recorded 14 with a mere two attacking errors.

Hadleigh Loitz, the defending CCAC Setter of the Week, matched her career best with 45 digs in the win. She also collected 19 digs and recorded seven kills.

Sara Serafimova paced the Tigers with a career-high 32 digs. Harris had 16, Kelsey Todd added 15, Nicholas recorded 11, and Ashley Poland finished with 10.

The Tigers, now 5-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play, will look to continue their win streak with a home match against St. Ambrose Thursday night in McHie Arena.
