BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) selected Olivet Nazarene University women's track and field athletes Kimberly Brent and Madeleine Robinson as its Track and Field Athletes of the Week. The conference announced their selections on Wednesday afternoon.
A native of Westmont, Ill., Brent had a terrific weekend at the ONU Tiger Open. She kicked off the day with a a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Her time of 12.20 seconds broke the school record in the event. Brent also had a strong performance in the 4x100 meter relay. Her team picked up the "A" and "B" qualifying standard in the event with a time of 47.42 seconds.
A native of Sandwich, Ill., Robinson continues to dominant the throws for the Tigers. In the meet, Robinson placed first in the shot put with a mark of 13.55 meters, which is good for an "A" and "B" qualifying standard and is good for 12th best in the NAIA. Additionally, Robinson won the hammer throw with a mark of 53.47 meters, which is also good for an "A" and "B" qualifying standard and is good for sixth in the NAIA.
The Tigers compete in the ONU Invitational on Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th at Ward Field. Friday's action starts at 2 p.m. while Saturday's action starts at 10 a.m.
