WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD SEES SOLID PERFORMANCES AT THE INDIANA TECH MONDAY MEET

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's track and field team traveled to the Indiana Tech Meet on Monday afternoon. 

 

Kimberly Brent got the Tigers off to a good start as she placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.63 seconds.  Olivia Sturrup finished in 10th place in the race as well. In the 400-meter dash, Tera Miller continued her impressive outdoor season as she placed in fifth with a time of 58.28 seconds. In the 5000-meter run, Jacey Schickel crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 18:58.34.  Eleanor FournierJaclyn Latocha, and Lauren Smith all finished in 8th, 11th, and 12th, respectively, in the race. In the 400-meter hurdles, Hannah Antkoviak won the race with a time of 1:02.02, earning an "A" and "B" qualifying standard.  Linda Griffith came in second in the race with a time of 1:04.82, while Emma Betts and Jolene Mantoan came in 8th and 12th, respectively.

 

The Tigers also hit their stride in the relays.  The team of Griffith, Brent, Miller, and Tristyn Grube finished second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 47.24 seconds.  That time was good for an "A" and "B" qualifying standard for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships.  The team of Griffith, Miller, Brent, and Antkoviak then followed that up with a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:57.99.  They were six seconds in front of the second-place finisher. 

 

Lynette Latocha kicked off the action in the field for the Tigers as she finished in a tie for first-place, in the high jump, with a mark of 1.64 meters.  The Tigers senior hit the "B" qualifying standard in the event. Continuing in the jumps was Madeline Manganiello, who finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.91 meters.  Melissa Sanders and Mantoan finished in sixth and seventh place. Madeleine Robinson then finished in sixth place in the shot put with a throw of 13.13 meters and fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.38 meters. 

 

The Tigers concluded the field events with Avery Spencer and Manganiello taking fourth and fifth place in the javelin throw with marks of 35.46 and 34.22 meters.  ONU ended the meet with numerous qualifying standards and solid performances.
