BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene women's soccer team struck in the first minute of overtime to down Governors State 2-1 Wednesday night. Teagon Albert's blast from distance ended the contest to bring their point total to 23 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play and maintain pace with the top four with a shot at hosting a first-round conference championship match.
From the first whistle, the Tigers jumped on the Jaguars to put the pressure on early. Abbey Cash struck the crossbar in the 24th minute that came close to crossing the goal line before being cleared away. A flurry of opportunities 5 minutes later ended with Teagon Albert placing the ball in the back of GSU's net but was called back for offside. Despite holding an 11-1 advantage in shot attempts, the ONU remained scoreless with Governors State at the break
Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 0, Governors State 0
Olivet picked up right where they left of in the first half maintaining possession and producing chances. Governors State adjusted to pick up the physicality of the match committing 15 fouls in the second period. Susanna Lindquist created space inside the opposition's penalty area before being taken down by a defender resulting in a penalty kick opportunity. Lindquist stepped up and found the bottom right corner to open the scoring at the 69th-minute mark. The Jaguars only took four minutes to equalize by finishing a scoring chance created from a corner kick set-piece. Neither team could find the decisive goal in regulation which forced overtime.

It took only 24 seconds for Olivet to end the match. Emily Greene found Teagon Albert's feet through the middle of the field. Albert used the space given to get a shot off from 25 yards out to beat the GSU netminder and take the victory.
