CHICAGO, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University Women's Soccer forward Katie Knutte has earned Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for the seven-day period ending Sep. 26, it was announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
Knutte collected the offensive honor after an outstanding performance assisting once and scoring the game-winner against No. 23 Trinity Christian College on Wednesday night September 22. The junior attacker assisted Kaylee Evers' score in the 59th minute and then scored herself in the 89th minute on the road at Schaaf Athletic Complex in Olivet Nazarene University's only match of the week. The Lemont native now leads the team in points (12), assists (4), and shares the lead in goals (4). The Tigers improved to 4-4-1 on the season and a league-best 4-0 in conference with the victory.
Other nominees included Marissa Anderson as a candidate for CCAC Defensive Player of the Week. The junior defender sparked ONU's come-back win by heading in the Tigers' opening goal five minutes before the half.
