ONU Drops 3-1 Decision over University of Jamestown

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene Women's soccer team fell to the University of Jamestown Jimmies 3-1 Saturday even at Snowbarger Sports Complex. Freshman Alaina Bahr scored her first career goal for the Tigers in the loss.

A frantic start to the match resulted in the Jimmies striking early. Eve Hoppe cut through the Tiger's midfield and slipped Kamryn Fiscus in on goal. Fiscus tucked the ball in to the far-right corner to open the scoring at the 10-minute mark. It only took 39 seconds for an Olivet response. Alaina Bahr was alert to an errant Jimmie's back-pass. Bahr's first-time shot directly off the intercepted pass brought the match level at 1-1. Play settled down and both teams went into the intermission tied.

Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 1, Jamestown 1

Abbey Cash came close to breaking the deadlock in the 58th minute. Cash dashed along the right sideline cutting in towards the goal. Her right-footed attempt struck the crossbar and Camille Cote was unable to direct the rebound on frame. Not too long later, Karli Hintze broke the tie with a header directly from Brianna Perry's corner kick to retake the lead for the Jimmies at the 61-minute mark. Jamestown put the game away in the 84rd minute as Cassandra Diaz's initial attempt on goal was parried by Samantha Tuuk's right foot but not far enough from danger to prevent a follow up that ended up in the back of the net.
