ALTON, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team secured its second consecutive runner-up finish as the team placed second at the Missouri Baptist Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.
The Tigers showcased their consistency across the 36-hole event, carding a 351 in the opening round before closing with a 353. ONU's final score of 704 placed them second at the seven-team tournament.
A pair of Tigers finished inside the top 10 to lead the Purple & Yellow Gold. Lizzie Howard led the charge, firing rounds of 85 and 87 for a 172 to place seventh. Bella Rosado was one stroke behind her teammate, knocking five strokes off her second round for an eighth-place finish at 173 (89-84).
Taylor Ice, the defending CCAC Women's Golfer of the Week, carded a 179 (88-91) to place 17th. Amelia Birge rounded out the scoring for ONU, knocking three strokes off her second round to finish in 20th place at 185 (94-91). Mya Jones placed 26th overall.
ONU will compete in its final regular-season event at the Lincolnshire Tournament next week.
