FRICKE EARNS FIRST CAREER CCAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK HONOR

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) selected Olivet Nazarene University softball player Kori Fricke as its Pitcher of the Week.  The conference announced their selections on Tuesday.  This is the first career pitcher of the week honor for Fricke.

A native of Manteno, Ill., Fricke had an exceptional week in the circle.  In the circle, the Tiger right-hander worked 19 innings, pitched a shutout, went the distance in all three starts, and amassed a 3-0 record on the week.  Fricke posted an impressive 0.37 ERA and only surrendered three total runs.  She struck out eight batters and walked four; this season, Fricke is 12-4 with a 2.66 ERA in 20 appearances.

At the plate, Fricke went 7-for-18 with three round-trippers and seven RBIs.  Against St. Francis, Fricke tallied her first career mulit-home run game as she slugged two home runs, including the eventual game-winner in the bottom of the sixth inning.  She also marked a triple, four runs, and drew a walk.

The Tigers travel to Judson University for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 26th before welcoming the Roosevelt University Lakers on Thursday, April 28th.  Tuesday's doubleheader starts at 2 p.m. while Thursday's single game starts at 3 p.m.
