BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announces on Thursday its selections for Academic All-District for Track and Field and Cross Country. Olivet Nazarene University pole vaulter Noah Sears was the lone selection. This is the first such honor for Sears.
Sears had a great year as the Tiger pole vaulter and in the classroom. A marketing major, Sears boasted a GPA of 3.80. In the field, Sears won the CCAC Championship crown in the pole vault with a mark of 4.70m, which is good for a "B" qualifying standard. The Tiger senior also won the pole vault CCAC Indoor crown with a final mark of 4.65m. In the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Sears took seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 4.70m, which also earned him All-American honors.
In last year's NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Elkhart, Ind. native placed eighth, earning All-American status, with a final mark of 4.80m, which still is his personal best. Also, in last year's NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Sears placed ninth in the event with a mark of 4.55m.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America in the Track and Field/Cross Country category will be released Wednesday, June 22nd at 11 a.m. CST.
