A PAIR OF TIGERS HIT QUALIFYING STANDARDS AT THE ONU INVITATIONAL

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's track and field team concluded their home schedule as they hosted the ONU Invitational on Friday and Saturday. 

 

The Tigers started the meet with taking the first three spots in the 100-meter dash.  Jalen Dunnigan won the event with a time of 10.91 seconds.  Vince Giuliano continues his incredible season as he won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.21.  That time is good for an "A" qualifying standard is 13th in the NAIA.  Ben Tavares then won the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.96 seconds.  In the 800-meter dash, Flynn Prather won the event with a time of 1:59.26, and Erik Richter won the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:06.61.  In the 3k, Enrique Romo won the event with a time of 9:04.90.  The Tigers won both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. 

 

In the field events, Francisco Benavides won the high jump with a mark of 1.92 meters and in pole vault, Noah Sears achieved the "B" qualifying standard as he reached 4.70 meters.  In the long jump, Ivan Williams won the event with a mark of 6.53 meters. Ian Hallom then won the triple jump with a mark of 12.33 meters.  The Tigers finished out the field events with Daniel DeRamus winning the discus and Brody Vollrath taking the javelin.    

 

The Tigers saw a pair of qualifying standards and good performances.
