FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's track and field team traveled to the Indiana Tech Meet on Monday afternoon.
The Tigers got off to a good start on the track as Vince Giuliano finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.69 seconds. Andrew Hudson finished sixth in the same race clocking a time of 22.24 seconds. In the 800-meter run, Ethan Hodel put up a great showing as he finished second with a time of 1:54.55. Max Grant finished seventh in the race with a time of 1:56.71. Later, on the track, Taylor Vallangeon crossed the finish line in third-place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:09.66. The Tigers also saw a good showing in the relays. The team of Esau Haynes, Jalen Dunnigan, Hudson, and Giuliano finished sixth with a time of 41.93.
Francisco Benevides got the Tigers off to a good start in the field events as he placed in tied for fourth-place in the high jump, hitting a mark of 1.92 meters. Also, in the field, Brody Vollrath earned a third-place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 45.99 meters.
The team of Giuliano, Hodel, Grant, and Ben Tavares finished the meet with a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:19.60. The Tigers took home nine top-10 finishes at the meet.
