TIGERS RETURN TO COMPETITION AT INDIANA TECH INVITE

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Competing for the first time in more than a month, the Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's track & field teams returned to the oval at the Indiana Tech Invite. No official team score was recorded.

Linda Griffith took second in a photo finish in the 200-meter dash, missing out on the top spot by a few hundredths of a second at 25.44. Hannah Antkoviak and Kiara Carter both placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Carter also turned in a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.97), while Antkoviak placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.93).

Tara Miller took fifth in the 400-meter dash, nearly eclipsing the 1-minute threshold at 1:00.51. Tori Orton was sixth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:44.06. Heidi Heldt found the podium with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run at 2:31.21. Jacey Schickel (10:46.95) and Eleanor Fournier (10:54.78) placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 3000-meter run.

Olivia Earl cleared 3.32 meters to take seventh place in the pole vault. Jolene Mantoan took sixth in the triple jump with a 10.63-meter mark. Courtney Hall earned a pair of top-eight finishes, she was fourth in the weight throw (14.91 meters) and fifth in the shot put (12.13 meters). Kayla Mikottis (14.84 meters) and Elizabeth Treadway (13.60 meters) were fifth and sixth, respectively, in the shot put while Lana Krohe took fourth in the weight throw with a 12.65-meter toss.

The women's quartet of Antkoviak, Griffith, Miller, and Carter were the champions of the 4x400-meter relay, crossing the finish line first at 3:55.34.

Vince Giuliano continued his dominant start to the season, placing first and second in his two events. He was the runner-up in the 60-meter dash (6.91) and the champion in the 200-meter dash (21.74). Giuliano was the only runner to clock in under 22 seconds in the latter.

Chapman Neal found the podium in the 600-meter run with a third-place finish (1:25.20). Max Grant turned in a third-place finish of his own in the 800-meter run at 1:57.15. Mabaraka Mmbumba was eighth (2:02.79).

A pair of Tigers finished inside the top-three in the 1000-meter run. Brett Hulliberger was the runner-up at 2:33.78 while Erik Richter took third (2:34.33).

Noah Sears was the runner-up in the pole vault for clearing 4.75 meters on his third attempt. Ian Hallom cleared the 1.88-meter height in the high jump to place fourth. He also placed eighth in the triple jump (12.16 meters).

ONU claimed a pair of eighth-place finishes in the throws.Daniel DeRamus took eighth in the shot put (13.29 meters) and Brody Vollrath took eighth in the weight throw (14.98 meters).

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Ben Tavares, Giuliano, Alex Powell, and George Hannah finished runner-up in 3:23.42.

The Tigers will be back in the Perry Center when they host the ONU Invite on Saturday, Jan. 28.
