ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Olivet Nazarene University track and field teams traveled to the Grand Valley Big Meet on Friday and Saturday. The Tigers saw great results and athletes who qualified for indoor nationals.
Day One
The Tiger men's team impressed in first day of the meet. In the men's 600-meter run, Ethan Hodel finished as the runner-up, ran the second fastest time in school history finishing with a time of 1:21.01, and achieved the "B" standard for nationals. Max Grant finished third in the race and ran the fourth fastest time in school history with a time of 1:21.81. Hodel's time is good for fastest in the CCAC, while Grant ran the third fastest time in the conference. In the men's 200-meter dash, Vince Giuliano finished 23rd overall, but fifth among NAIA runners with a time of 22.19.
The Tiger women's team had some success in the relays in day one of the meet. The team of Tera Miller, Kimberly Brent, Linda Griffith, and Hannah Antkoviak finished ninth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:54.86. This team finished in second place among NAIA schools running in this race. Jacey Schickel and Eleanor Fournier competed in the women's 5K but finished 22nd and 24th, in their heat, respectively.
Day Two
The Tiger men's track team found success in day two. Giuliano started off the day strong taking second-place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.96, which is fourth in the CCAC. Giuliano also took 24th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.31. The 800-meter run was also a huge success for the Tigers. Hodel continued to impress as he placed 8th in the race with a time of 1:55.36, which is the fastest time in the CCAC. Erik Richter followed close behind and crossed the finish line 9th with a time of 1:44.56, which is the second fastest in the CCAC. Grant and Brett Hulliberger also raced in the 800 and finished in 13th and 19th, respectively.
The Tigers women's team carried their day one momentum into day two. In the 400-meter dash, Linda Griffith took fifth place with a time of 58.10. Griffith's time is good for the fastest in the CCAC and a "B" qualifying standard. Miller also placed 7th in the race with a time of 58.49, which is also good for a "B" standard and the second fastest time in the CCAC. Antkoviak rounded out the Tigers in the 400 with a 13th place finish at 58.85 and the third fastest time in the CCAC. In the women's 60-meter dash, Brent placed 12th with a time of 7.99, which is the fifth fastest time in the CCAC. Brent concluded her day with a 6th place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.75. Griffith rounded out with women's action with an 8th place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.19, which is currently the fastest time in the CCAC.

The Tigers host the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Conference Championships on Friday, February 18th through Saturday, February 19th inside the Perry SLRC. Friday's action starts at 1 p.m. and Saturday's action starts at 10 a.m.
