THE TIGER MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PUT UP SOLID PERFORMANCES AT THE WALTER CRAMER INVITATIONAL

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's track and field team hosted the Walter Cramer Invitational inside the Perry Center on Saturday.

 

ONU started the day on a high note as James LeGrand took first place in the 3000-meter race walk with a time of 14:44.61.  The Tigers also saw good success with the 400-meter dash.  Ben Tavares, Skyler Blanton, and Alex Powell took the first three places in the race.  Tavares finished with a time of 51.35 seconds.  In the 200-meter dash, Vince Giuliano took fourth in the race with a time of 22.59 seconds.  In the 600-meter run, Connor Price took second-place with a time of 1:24.31.  The Tigers also saw great success in their relay teams.  In the 4x400 meter relay, the team of Max Grant, Giuliano, Tavares, and Ethan Hodel finished as the race's runner-up with a time of 3:24.07.  ONU also took first in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 7:56.81. 

 

ONU earned a trio of wins in the field events. Noah Sears, who won CCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, took first in the pole vault with a mark of 4.65 meters.  Austin Kasap grabbed the other two victories for the Tigers.  He placed first in the shot put, at a mark of 14.91 meters, and first in the weight throw, at a mark of 16.88 meters.  In all, the Tigers took seven top-four finishes in the field events.
