JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Three matches in two days resulted in a pair of wins for the Olivet Nazarene men's tennis team this weekend. After falling 5-2 at home to Goshen Friday, the Tigers rebounded with 7-0 wins over Illinois Valley and Illinois College Saturday at the Bellatti Tennis Complex.
ONU dominated the matches Saturday, sweeping all 12 singles matches in straight sets and claiming all six of the doubles matches.
The Tigers were able to secure the doubles point in the setback to Goshen, with Andres Viedma Diaz and Chatton Haws taking the top doubles match 6-1 and Briana Ayala and Paul Saleh teaming up to claim the No. 3 match 7-5. Saleh was also responsible for the lone singles win for ONU, claiming the No. 4 match in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
ONU will take on another busy weekend, hosting Prairie State Friday afternoon before welcoming Indiana Tech Saturday.
