TIGERS FALL TO PURDUE NORTHWEST IN SPRING OPENER

PARK FOREST, Ill. – In the first match of the spring season, the Olivet Nazarene men's tennis team fell 7-0 to the Purdue University Northwest Pride at the Park Forest Tennis Club Wednesday afternoon.

The match got off to good start for the Tigers when Davi Toledo and Hector Romero teamed up to pick up a 6-1 win the top doubles match.

After that it was all Purdue University Northwest. The Pride picked up the other two doubles wins to take the doubles point, and then went on to sweep the singles to pick up the match win.

2 – Samuel Dickson (PNW) def. Juan Banuls, 6-3, 6-1

4 – Levent Evyapan (PNW) def. Paul Saleh, 6-3, 6-2

5 – Luis Alvear (PNW) def. Shaun Coubey, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0

6 – Paul Hawes (PNW) def. Taiga Kurosu, 6-0, 6-3

Doubles

1 – Toledo/Romero (ONU) def. Alvear/Kirchhoff, 6-1

2 – Dickson/Martins (PNW) def. Choubey/Ayala, 6-1

3 – Evyapan/Hawes (PNW) def. Banuls/Saleh, 6-3

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers will return to the courts in a month against Eastern Illinois University on March 3 at the Snowbarger Athletic Complex.
