MEN'S TENNIS ADVANCES TO THE CCAC SEMIFINALS AS THEY SHUTOUT THE FIGHTING SAINTS

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's tennis team advanced to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Semifinals as they shut out the Fighting Saints of the University of St. Francis on Monday afternoon. 

 

Both of the Tiger doubles teams won their matches convincingly.  The team of Francisco Faria and Brian Victoria Ayala won their match, 6-3, while Carlo Cota Vargas and Davi Toledo won their match, 6-2.  The Tigers picked up that critical doubles point. 

 

In singles play, Faria continues to have an impressive spring campaign as he won his singles' match 6-0, 6-0. All three other singles' matches were also on-sided affairs as Juan Diaz Banuls and Toledo both won their matches, 6-2, 6-0, while Cota Vargas won his match, 6-1, 6-2.  The Tigers earned the shutout victory, 4-0.

The Tigers will travel to play the No. 1 seeded Cardinal Stritch University Wolves in the CCAC Semifinals on Wednesday, April 27th at 12:30 p.m.
