KLENNER AND PEARSON GARNER KCAC SWIMMERS OF THE MONTH HONORS

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University swimming and diving athletes Nicholas Klenner and Allison Pearson were awarded the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Swimmers of the Month.  The League announced their selections on Monday.

 

Klenner, a native of Whiteland, Ind., has gotten off to an incredible start to the 2021-22 season for the Tigers.  At the Saint Ambrose Quad, Klenner's team placed 3rd in the 400-yard freestyle relay and 2nd in the 200-yard medley and freestyle Relay.  Klenner finished the day with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. 

 

Nicholas had a great meet at Bethel as well.  His team finished first in the 400-yard medley relay.  Klenner also placed on top in the 200-yard backstroke and the 400-yard freestyle relay, while finishing second in the 100-yard backstroke.  Also, at Bethel, Klenner swam the NAIA's fifth fastest time in the 100-yard backstroke (51.70) and the third fastest time in the 200-yard backstroke (1:52.46).  This is all according to SwimCloud. 

 

Pearson, a native of Normal, Ill., has kicked off her freshman year in style for the Tigers.  In the Saint Ambrose Quad, placed first in the five of the six races entered in, including, the 200-yard Medley Relay, 200-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relays.  Pearson also finished second only behind teammate Megan Schroeder in the 200-yard breaststroke. Allison swam the best time in the NAIA in the 200-yard IM (2:10.99) at the SAU Quad as well.   

 

In the Bethel Meet, placed first in the 400-yard medley relay, the 400-yard IM, and the 400-yard freestyle relay, while finishing second in the 200-yard breaststroke.  Her 400-yard IM time at this meet is also best the time in the NAIA this season, according to SwimCloud (4:38.58).

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers host the Toby the Tiger Invitational at the Student Life and Recreation Center on Friday and Saturday, November 12 and 13.  Friday's action will start at 4 p.m. while Saturday's start time is 10 a.m.
