TIGERS PLACE FIFTH AT THE BATTLE OF BLACKTHORN

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Coming off a tied for second team finish, last weekend, at the ONU Bill Johnson Invitational, the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team competed in the Bethel College (Ind.) Battle at Blackthorn on Friday and Saturday. 

 

The Tigers stood in fourth place after a day of action.  Kyle Spence and Conor Butts led the Tigers finishing at -1 (71) and E (72), respectively.  Jordan Evans rounded out the top-20 finishers for the Tigers and carded a +6 (78).  Perennial powerhouse Taylor University led after day one shooting -4 as a team. 

 

On day two, Spence finished in tied for sixth after shooting a final round 75.  Butts also finished in tied for sixth after carding a 74 in the final round.  Jordan Evans was the other Tiger that finished in the top-25 as he stood in tied for 24th after shooting 78 and a final round 76.

The Tigers travel to Benton Harbor, Michigan to compete in the Harbor Shores Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, October 4-5.
