PARK FOREST, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's tennis team had its modest three-match win streak snapped with a 4-0 setback to Holy Cross Monday afternoon at the Park Forest Tennis & Health Club.
In their toughest match of the season thus far, the Tigers couldn't get much going against the defending conference champions. Natasha Nieto and Rafaela Luna pushed the top doubles match to a tiebreaker but ultimately fell 7-6 in surrendering the doubles point.
Luna, a sophomore from Lima, Peru, was in front 5-3 in the opening set of the No. 3 singles match. But the Saints collected the three singles wins needed before her match could conclude, and Holy Cross would win 4-0.
ONU, now 5-5 overall and 1-1 in league play, will look to get back in the win column with a road match Spring Arbor Thursday.
