BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Tigers complete the two-game sweep against rival St. Francis to stay undefeated in CCAC play. Miranda Southall was the hero of the day, with a walkoff home run in game one, along with the win on the pitcher's mound. Then in game two, Southall added another homer to her scoreline to push the Tigers to victory.
Game 1
To open up play in this CCAC doubleheader, St. Francis quickly jumped out to a two-zero lead in the first inning, and they would hold onto that lead until the fourth. The Tigers were able to score their first run of the game in the third inning when Margaret Landis drove in her sister Kate Landis. Then in the fourth inning, the Tigers took control of the lead with the rally getting started with a Haley Dobson single. This allowed Miranda Southall to score and advanced Alli Davis to second. Later in the inning, Davis would score on a throwing error to take a three-two lead. After trading runs in the fifth inning, the Fighting Saints would tie the game up in the top of the sixth inning at four runs apiece.
