OSHKOSH, Wis. – With 551 runners representing 37 of the top cross country programs in the Midwest, the Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team held their own, finishing 10th overall. Jeremy Brassard (SO/Strafford, N.H.) continues to pace the Tigers, crossing the finish line in an impressive seventh place overall. The 8k Kollege Town Sports Invitational was hosted by the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh on Saturday, Oct. 14 and took place at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
Brassard used a 25:13 time to put himself in the top ten. Tyler Gabriele (JR/Wheaton, Ill.) and Jason Reynolds (SR/Rockford, Ill.) were next, placing 65th and 67th, respectively. Gabriele posted a time of 26:21, while Reynolds crossed in 26:22. Freshmen Wesley Meyer (FR/Rochester, Ind.) and Zachary Bishop (FR/Charlottesville, Ind.) rounded out the top five for the Tigers. Meyer placed 105th, finishing in 26:49. Bishop crossed in 26:51 to place 106th.
North Central College (Ill.) captured the overall title in the 37 team field. The University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire finished second followed by Calvin College (Mich.), Washington University – St. Louis (Mo.) and Ohio Northern University.
Next up for the Tigers is the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 22. The women's race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (CT) at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
